A 3-day Family Trip in Nanjing

Of all the cities in China, I finally chose Nanjing to spend my summer holiday with my family. The place was selected for several reasons: its richness in culture and history, the vitality of its modern life, the daintiness of all the snacks and street food, and most importantly, it's a paradise for children.

Shanxi Road Commercial Circle

Hunan Road in this circle, second only to Xinjiekou, is nationally renowned for its ‘Civilization Demo and Good Faith’.

Mochou Lu Church

The gospel was brought to Nanjing early in 1867 the China Inland Mission. Later, Albert Whiting and Charles Leaman of the Presbyterian Church USA came to preach the good news in 1873 and 1874. They successfully built the first church in 1876, called "Four Poles', with a capacity of 100 people.

Powerful and Prosperous Ming Empire

Many of the images and sites that make up the worldview of Chinese culture were begun in the Ming Dynasty. Most notably, the current and completed version of the Great Wall, the architectural style represented by the Forbidden City and the popular blue and white porcelain creations.

National Hero - Lin ZeXu

Lin Zexu (1785-1850)was a Chinese scholar and official of the Qing Dynasty. He is most recognized for his conduct and his constant position on the "moral high ground" in his fight, as a "shepherd" of his people, against the opium trade in Guangzhou.
