Purple Mountain
Highlight: The Highest Mountain in Nanjing
Purple Mountain is the highest mountain in Nanjing City. When it is sunny and clear, you can have a panoramic view of Nanjing from the top of the mountain - the ridges nearby, the Yangtze River and Laoshan Mountain in the distance.

The easiest way to visit Purple Mountain is to take the Purple Mountain Sightseeing Cableway.
With a total length of 2,139 meters, the sightseeing cableway starts from the Dibaocheng at the western foot of Purple Mountain and stops halfway at Purple Mountain Observatory. As you are seated in the cable car, watching the trees under your feet slowly pass away, the picturesque natural beauty of Purple Mountain gradually unfolds before you. On clear and sunny days, you can also see the distant scenic spots such as Zixia Lake, Ming Tomb and Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. Taking the cableway, you can easily reach Toutuo Ridge scenic area (Toutuoling) on the top of the 425-meter high mountain.
The Peak Garden on Purple Mountain at the terminal point of up-going cableway is the highest scenic spot in Nanjing. Here you can have a whole picture of Nanjing main city and the majestic Yangtze River Bridge, the Second Bridge and the Fourth Bridge.
Visitors can take a tourist bus at Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum to get to the starting point of the cableway. After getting off the bus, just walk towards the memorial arch of "Purple Mountain Cableway" and walk up the steps, where you can take the double-seat sky ride and overpass the boundless sea of forests like a bird.

Mufu Mountain
Highlight: Pearl on Nanjing Riverside Scenery Belt
Located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, Mufu Mountain is a hilly mountain range that traverses Gulou District and the Swallow Promontory (Yanziji) in Qixia District, Nanjing.
"Climbing Mufu Mountain" has been one of most popular activities in Nanjing since ancient times, especially around the Double Ninth Festival. In autumn, continuous streams of visitors come to Mufu Mountain to admire the epic autumn scenery. On the top of the mountain, there is a platform for visitors to view the Yangtze River rushing past the foot of the mountain.

Lion Mountain
Highlights: Overlooking the Yangtze River and Nanjing city on the mountain top
Lion Mountain is located in Xiaguan District of Nanjing, bordering the Yangtze River. As "One of the 48 famous Scenic Spots in Ancient Nanjing", it is called "Magnificent View of Lion Mountain".
There are numerous cultural and historical sites on Lion Mountain, of which Yuejiang Tower is the most famous one. On Yuejiang Tower you can capture the epic scene of the vast Yangtze River. While looking at the other side, you will have a panoramic view of the Nanjing city.
