Yuejiang Pavilion

Source by Yuejiang Pavillion

Yuejiang Pavilion – to bird view the Yangtze River and define the identity of Nanjing.

The pavilion is not so packed by Chinese tourists as other famous attractions but a panoramic view over Yangtze River and downtown is fabulous and breathtaking. A relaxing and peaceful hiking is also attractive here. It is always a popular ‘must-see’ choice of international expats in Nanjing to show to their foreign friends or relatives.

Going back to its history, meaning the ‘River Viewing Pavilion’ in Chinese, it has been mentioned by a number of ancient literati, but for some reason the actual structure never really existed. The current pavilion was built in 2001 with modern techniques to fit ancient descriptions. Inside the pavilion, various displays about the Ming Dynasty are also presented in a lovely way.
