Zhima Ridge (Zhimaling)

Zhima Ridge (Zhimaling), also known as Sesame Ridge, is a boundary mountain between Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. It is surrounded by a vast and dense forest and secluded mountains, where is home to all kinds of birds and animals.

As the only biodiversity reserve in Nanjing, Zhima Ridge is featured with a wide variety of trees from euphrates poplars, chestnut trees, maackia amurensis to sand pines. From a distance, the mountain looks like a beautiful picture painted in the colors of yellow, red and green. The hottest internet-famous attraction in Zhima Ridge is the woods of pond cypresses. There are 400 or 500 pond cypresses, each towering straight with a steeple-shaped crown.
